2025 —
Maybe Comic Sans is Feminist Afterall
Master thesis, research, curation, scenography, writing, editorial and type design
The project offers a critical and feminist reinterpretation of the history of graphic design through a simple question: Who decides what is considered "good taste" in design, and to the detriment of which voices, and which bodies?
Based on an investigation conducted as part of my thesis with the same title, the project aims to deconstruct the aesthetic norms inherited from European modernism and questions the male, white and Western authority that imposed them. From the rejection of ornament to the colonial and gendered logics that have shaped our tools, the aim here is to highlight what "good taste" seeks to erase.
With humor, often invovlving memes, interviews, quotes, absurd lines of code, and typographic interludes, the video essay, the archive exhibition, and the printed object of the thesis invite us to think of ornament not as excess, but as a language. A logic. A refusal.
